A spending ban and project pan

Hello lovelies today's post is a bit because I wen't a bit addicted to buying eye shadow palettes these past few months, and I figured I need to put them to good use before I buy any new ones unless some really grab my attention, however for now I am on an eye shadow spending ban, there! I said it! I've put myself on it. So I looked into my stash and figured I'd blog about an oldie but a goodie that I have loved for ages.

I am a huge fan of Designer brands by db a cosmetic company that started within Australia and is now fully cruelty free as well as vegan. This is an older palette that I'm not sure is in their range anymore or in their vegan range but I do know that it is in fact cruelty free. I paid $6 for this palette a year and a half ago at my local chemist and I have not regretted it one bit.
It comes in this super cute and very glittery clutch style packaging which I thought was adorable as it meant you can travel with it, in style!  The shadows are smooth, buttery and very pigmented! very happy with the different finishes, one matte and its also quite pigmented, these swatches were one swipe, no primer and taken in natural lighting by my bedroom window.
They do throw a little kick back in the pan but that doesn't transfer to fall out under the eye but I always do my eyes first before applying foundation, so I can clean it up relatively easy if there is any fall out. I love how this can easily carry from Day time to nighttime, and is such a versatile palette with the shades.
It's such a pity they discontinued it but honestly its lasted me ages and it is still going strong as I haven't really touched some of the shades yet. Have you gone on a spending ban?

graduating year 12 as a mature adult student

I graduated this week! I went back as an adult to finish my vce year 12, it took two years as I did it part time. I didn't have to do year 12 as I am 32 years old, however I wanted to do something that I had felt like I had missed out on as I had dropped out of high school in year 9. I also felt like that studying year 12 would give me a good study routine for further education for studying my bachelor of arts next year.

So this post is about my graduation day, I felt so proud to have finally actually accomplishing it, year 12 is a lot harder than what you may think.

So graduation day started with a fresh berry smoothie which was delish and I was up bright and early as I start school at 8:.30am.
Most of these pics were taken on snapchat and its showing us on muck up day and then on the actual graduation day where we had grad lunch and awards.

Free tacos for the students which was a nice touch, who doesn't like tacos?
These guys were what made class bearable, some days were really hard to get up, dressed and sorted, having pain issues I found it really confronting some days. But knowing my pals were there made it easier.
my last bathroom outfit pic. I chucked on the outfit and my friend and I called it granny goth haha, the cardi with the tank.

So graduation lunch was the standard buffet but it was mainly to see the group one last time as we were and really know we had graduated.

The guys that made me laugh when I was feeling stressed or anxious and the ones who kept me sane through the mountain of homework and assignments. I still have these guys on snapchat which is great.

Thank you for a fantastic year guys, its had its ups and downs for sure, but knowing we all went through it together is great. I have my end of year exams coming up in the next couple of weeks to get my atar score. That's daunting to say the least!

but we made it and that's the best thing of all. I'm still processing that year 12 is over, I'm a very routine person. It feels weird knowing I won't be going back to those classes.

Is anyone else like that?

so that's my graduation day! has anyone else graduated recently?

The Golden Wonder lush bath bomb

Lush, its basically every beauty youtuber and blogger talks about, Lush this, Lush that, well for someone who hasn't got a bath in her household... aka me, it makes it very hard to try all the pretty goodies that Lush has to offer. Well I was offered a gig to house sit for the week, and I thought they have a bath, and mind you we have lived in our house for 10 years and that means I haven't had a bath in 10 years!

I made the most of it, I picked up 3 goodies last Sunday as I was in the city, I picked up the The Golden Wonder Christmas lush bath bomb, the bath melt as the sales person said it was the last batch they would be doing before summer, and I also picked up the Dragons eggs bath bomb, today however I am reviewing the Wonder Bar Christmas limited edition bath bomb.

It's a very pretty bath bomb to behold, a fine sheen of sparkle around it and a white design on the top of it, it's also fairly large and looks rather festive. It is a giant present wrapped up in a bow, (that's the design if you didn't get it) and mind you it hides something inside.
Apparently this is one of Lush's biggest bath bombs yet, so the present keeps on giving within the experience. It's also been designed around an old favourite Snow Shower jelly which is great because years ago I remember being raved about. I place the bathbomb in the water and it instantly fizzes into a glorious display.
A mix of pink, blues, yellow, and purple with a hint of shimmer covers the surface of the water and when the fizzing stops and the bath bomb has disappeared you are left with the most stunning swirls of colour in an aqua green tub of water. Did I mention he shimmer?
The bath water is actually changed as well, the feel is silky smooth, and it smells heavenly, very uplifting and refreshing.Warming and zingy, it made me feel relaxed and happy all at once. The gold sheen was also transferred onto my body which was pretty.
I love that this is a vegan friendly product, and is an affordable treat that would make anyone feel like a million dollars! The only con was that I felt like the scent of it didn't linger too long, but people might like that in this product.
For $8.95 I think its reasonably priced, as it was my first ever lush bath bomb I don't have others to compare it to but I think its priced well for its size and the quality of the experience it gives, my body was left feeling smooth and moisturised as well.

what are your lush favourites?

Toofaced Totally Cute Limited edition eye shadow palette

Hi lovelies, today's post is a look at the Totally cute Toofaced palette, I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift from a friend, and I have been using it to really dive into the eye shadows and see how they apply, work and deliver on pigment. So the 12 year old me, squealed with delight at this delightful package revealed itself to me. The packaging is adorable, and the tin itself is sturdy and compact. Pink actually never used to be one of my favourite colours as a girl, but surprisingly it is now, especially in makeup.

You get two sheets of stickers, food, kawaii animals and fantasy theme is all the go in this palette, which gives you the feel about what the eye shadows will actually be when you move past the cuteness to the palette itself!
So the colours are a lovely mix of warm toned earthy colours, brights and wearable colours depending on how you use then, the eye shadows are very soft to the touch, almost too soft because there is kickback in the pan. No fall out when applying though and they last incredibly well on the eye lid.

The highlight was hard to photograph but on the face it looks lovely and quite natural, almost as if its coming out from within A very pretty white highlight and a champagne highlight. Also a matte highlight for those that don't like shimmer.
They swatch amazingly well, one swipe, no primer and are true to colour as in the pan so it doesn't need building up, my favourite is the teal duochrome, it is such an amazing colour, and the pink is actually not chalky at all for a pink, most pinks in eye shadows have had me meh.

The palette comes with detailed instructions on how to wear the eye shadows but if you are creative you will not have any trouble coming up with looks, over all a lovely palette for $52 and I'm glad to have it in my collection, now just to decide what one to get next!

have you tried Toofaced cosmetics? I have only tried the eye shadows so far, what do you suggest?

90's goth fashion wearing black velvet

Hi Lovelies today I felt I wanted to share an outfit of the day type post as I don't typically post alot about fashion but I felt like I was put together today which is funny because I just threw it together at the last minute. I'm not very confident in fashion, but I am trying to get into it because I do rather like the idea of it. I also love the fact that most of the pieces are thrifted and the whole outfit except accessories cost $10.
I picked up the velour pants and they are so comfy to wear, I paid a whopping $3 for these babies and I wear them quite often
The cardigan with the studs I paid $3 for, it was on a bargain rack and I wasn't expecting it to fit as it said small, but I tried it on and it fit so well!

The moodstone choker came from Lovisa and I paid $10 for it.
The tank top was $2 so an outfit under $10? and it fits my 90's goth girl theme I'm kinda going for at the moment.

What are you wearing?

Amie Naturally Kind Spring Clean Cleansing Mask

The Amie Naturally Kind Spring Clean cleansing Mask is a bit of a mouthful after reading the title, but that's basically it in a nutshell, I'm very into skincare at the moment and this mud mask has found its way into my routine.

Today's mud mask is brought to you by Amie, an English brand that I have recently found at Priceline. I love a good deep cleansing mud mask that really feels like its getting into those pores and getting all the gunk out. I suffer from congested clogged and oily skin that are prone to break outs, and whiteheads, lately I have been fairly ok with black heads but am still working my way through the beauty products. I also love that tightening effect that only face masks can give, it makes me feel like I am having a mini face lift, and am really giving my pores a work out, shrinking them and not having to worry about them! is anyone else like that?

So Amie is an English brand, and I was reading through its ingredients and I am able to say its very natural based. It's gentle on my skin though it does have a very zingy effect thanks to the peppermint extract. The feeling makes my skin feel awake and cleansed and brightens so its a good one if you have dull skin.

so the ingredients are and these are in order, so Kaolin clay is right up there in how much of it is actually in it. If you didn't know, where the ingredients are placed on the label is basically a guide to how much is actually in the product, so if Kaolin clay is second, its not diluted down so much with other ingredients, making it more effective. It is free from parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oils, and animal extracts which makes it suitable for vegetarians.
water,
Kaolin clay
zinc oxide
glycerin
magnesium aluminum silicate
lime leaf essential oil this is antibacterial and will help keep those blemishes away
peppermint extract also antibacterial and really clears those clogged pores making them able to shrink in size
I love the packaging, the mint green matches what the colour of the mud mask looks like, and is so cute and bright. The texture is smooth and thick but easily applies and spreads across an even layer on the skin. Doesn't take long to dry, about 15 minutes depending on the thickness, and washes off easily with luke warm water. I can't stand those masks that take forever to break up, basically ruins the whole aspect of doing a relaxing mud mask in the first place!
I found this mask to be very cooling, it has a fun zesty fresh scent that wakes me up and makes me feel like I've accomplished something. I am a huge sucker for anything that smells good enough to eat. So I'm really impressed with this mud mask and I am really keen to try other things from their range because Priceline seems to be stocking more of it which makes it so much more accessible! Because its cooling it helps to reduce my redness, soothe my skin and it has a very fresh feeling afterwards, almost like that menthol feeling, which I quite enjoy. It's not a burning feeling but a very refreshing cooling tingly feel, on my skin it doesn't hurt but for sensitive types it might not work well.
have you tried Amie products before? what are your thoughts? interested?

a 60 year old cottage garden, making memories

I thought I would share a day in photos! I spent the day with my mum because yesterday was my 32nd birthday!

we went to my nannas house to spend time and then wen't opshopping and we had a really great afternon. My mum is sick with Muscular dystrophy so time with my mum is really rather special to me.

For me these types of blog posts are sharing memories, a keepsake that I can look back on and enjoy.

I'm the first child out of 3 in my family so I am the eldest and mum always says I was her easiest haha.
my nan is 85 years old this year and has always done her own gardening, even down to mowing the lawn. This is a 60 year old cottage garden that she has looked after for all this time.
I love flowers and scents that come from a blooming garden that has been tended to with such love and care.
When I got home there was mail day and my lovely friend Tanya sent me these goodies for my birthday! she lives in NSW so we chat via snapchat all the time.
Included in the package she sent me my first ever mac product and its a mac lipstick! in the shade hoop. I will be wearing it tonight when I go out for my birthday dinner! but I do feel very loved and spoiled!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my nannas garden! what's special in your world? for me its special places like my nans garden that makes me feel comfortable and content in this world.

hugs
