Australis fake eye-d limited edition holiday palette

Hi lovelies, today's post is on the new limited edition palette that Australis cosmetics brought out recently, I believe its for the holiday makeup, but I picked up this bad boy, in the 40% off sale last week at Priceline, it was something I wanted as I had seen it on their website and was like, I will break my eye shadow palette spending ban for this! and I did.

I was lucky in the fact that my Priceline store had this in stock at all, I picked up the last one, and was so happy. I took it home hoping it would perform well, and so far I am very happy with all of the 15 shades. The lightest ones in particular are actually great, they show up well on my pale arm!
I believe the packaging is quite decent,if you have felt the Morphe palettes it feels better quality than that style of packaging. but there is no mirror. You get the names of the eye shadows written on the back. You get 15 different shades ranging from mattes, to shimmers and a couple of foiled eye shadows as well. Also the pigmentation on these shadows are very good, they feel soft and buttery too.

These swatches are great because one swipe. no primer and all the colours actually show up the way they are meant to. Wearing on the eyes the eye shadows performed very well, didn't crease and lasted on my oily eye lids a good 10 hours, so I was pretty happy about that. The range of shades are also pretty unique for a drugstore palette, Earthy greens, taupes and a few pops of colour.
Over all I'm rather happy with this palette and can't wait to try it out more! I think the price point of $25 is pretty good, considering the size of the pans and the quality over all. I also love Australis for being cruelty free and an affordable brand here in Australia. They have brought out some interesting things in the last few months.
have you brought this palette?

A spending ban and project pan

Hello lovelies today's post is a bit because I wen't a bit addicted to buying eye shadow palettes these past few months, and I figured I need to put them to good use before I buy any new ones unless some really grab my attention, however for now I am on an eye shadow spending ban, there! I said it! I've put myself on it. So I looked into my stash and figured I'd blog about an oldie but a goodie that I have loved for ages.

I am a huge fan of Designer brands by db a cosmetic company that started within Australia and is now fully cruelty free as well as vegan. This is an older palette that I'm not sure is in their range anymore or in their vegan range but I do know that it is in fact cruelty free. I paid $6 for this palette a year and a half ago at my local chemist and I have not regretted it one bit.
It comes in this super cute and very glittery clutch style packaging which I thought was adorable as it meant you can travel with it, in style!  The shadows are smooth, buttery and very pigmented! very happy with the different finishes, one matte and its also quite pigmented, these swatches were one swipe, no primer and taken in natural lighting by my bedroom window.
They do throw a little kick back in the pan but that doesn't transfer to fall out under the eye but I always do my eyes first before applying foundation, so I can clean it up relatively easy if there is any fall out. I love how this can easily carry from Day time to nighttime, and is such a versatile palette with the shades.
It's such a pity they discontinued it but honestly its lasted me ages and it is still going strong as I haven't really touched some of the shades yet. Have you gone on a spending ban?

my first look into Eyes like Angels eye shadow palette by Makeup revolution

Hi lovelies, today I am talking to you about one of the best eye shadow palettes from the drugstore that money can buy, I'm actually really surprised at how much I am obsessing over this palette right now, at just under $14.00 AUD they have come through with both quality, and pigment! the brand is, Makeup revolution, the palette is Eyes like Angels.
Pictured on the right is the flawless Matte original palette, but the Eyes like Angels palette is what I'm talking about today. I really am in love with this palette, the eye shadows have a high end feel to it, I own the Urban Decay vice 3 palette and they honestly feel very similar in quality, and match each other for pigmentation. I wore this palette to the Andy Black concert on Sunday night and it didn't budge, crease, and the colour didn't fade.

I created this look with the flawless matte palette and the Eyes like angels palette to create this grunge look for the concert.
These swatches are done with my finger, the shadows are buttery smooth, long wearing, and honestly so many colour options can be done in this palette, most are shimmer to foil effect and some are a satin finish. I also love how it comes with a plastic sleeve with the names of the shades on them.

this is basically a first impressions of the palette but so far I am really happy! I can't wait to create more looks with this.

have you tried their eye shadow palettes?

For those day's you can't decide between bright's or neautrals

Hello all! today I am back with a first impressions and swatches of a new palette I got from Meyer's yesterday. I wasn't expecting this but they actualy had a 2 day sale of Chichi Cosmetics at 40% off which made my little purchases even more fantastic, because you know me, I do love a bargain! I bought two palettes, one I had my heart set on for ages and that was the OMFG palette that Target always seemed to have out of stock, so I was surprised that Meyer had heaps!

So today I'm showing you two palettes and their respective swathes, the other palette I was convinced to get by a friend, is the amazing Spices palette. Warm browns, oranges, dusty pinks and in between colours. I can't believe I paid $13.77 each for these two palettes, but its a steal when they are normally $22.95 each.
Sadly the colours are not individually named but by the size of the packaging it isn't really doable.
Both palettes have pretty much al the colours you could ever use, the colours and quality of these eye shadows literally amaze me, I actually think I can compare them to my Morphe 35c palette which I also love. These two palettes however are missing two basic single colours in my opinion and that is a black and white. However I do have these in other palettes just would have been nice to have it all in one.
They both have 12 stunning shades, each feel as buttery smooth as the other, I'm yet to actually use these though as this is just a first impressions. But they swatched amazingly well and my arm had also been stained from the colours, which makes it a very good sign of a good eye shadow.
These shadows would be great for someone starting out in makeup, or for the advanced, they are so smooth, and pigmented. The pink in the omfg palette stuns me, its literally one swipe, and its pigmented as!

The spices palette is more an everyday kinda palette but you could easily intertwine these palettes for creating some seriously pretty stunning looks!

Even the lightest shades in the omfg swatched well, and this is without primer, one swipe in natural unedited daylight.

Same for the Spices palette natural unedited day light, swatched without primer and they are stunning are they not? how many times can I say stunning in this post! *cough*

so guys what are your thoughts on these palettes? did you buy anything in the sales lately? I do love sale time! my thoughts a fantastic price point for such a good quality palette, interesting colours, and very very good quality! a steal for how good a quality they are!

you can see my vlog shopping day when I bought these here! I have a youtube channel.
buying the chichi palettes vlog

Until next time!

lots of love
Jess
