Australis velour liquid lipsticks lipswatch review Mi-a-Mee

Happy March lovelies! how are we? I can't believe that Summer is officially over! But it's still lovely weather to be sporting these Australis cosmetics summer themed lipsticks, and my favourite currently is Mi-A-Mee, I have been gathering quite a collection and thought I'd post a swatch review of this shade.

What Australis says about their lipsticks.
“Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look. A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.”

 My thoughts
Fantastic colour pay off for the price, at just under $11 and often on clearance prices these are a great drugstore liquid lip alternative with a fantastic shade range that will suit basically everyone! Some shades can be a little drying, like the red shades and deeper shades but I just add a lip primer or a lip balm to counteract this. They are heavenly to apply, the doe foot applicator makes it a breeze for someone like me who isn't a pro.

The Pro's
They smell really nice
They are affordable
Great packaging for travelling with
Great shade range
Found at a lot of different places and online
Cruelty free and vegan

Con's
Some of the shades apply oddly if you aren't careful, I apply thin layers so to avoid the crumbly lip look
sometimes drying if you don't take care of your lips first

In my opinion it smells like grape softdrink/soda and it isn't lingering so if you don't like strong smells this should be ok. I also like the fact they don't feather on the lips, Are easy to clean up any mistakes and I love that Australis is now starting to show up in more places than just Coles, Kmart and Priceline.
I love the fact they are cruelty free and affordable here in Australia but they also do ship world wide from their website and if your a student like me sign up to unidays and you get 25% off!
Have you tried their lipsticks? what are your favourite types of lipsticks liquid or traditional?

Australis fake eye-d limited edition holiday palette

Hi lovelies, today's post is on the new limited edition palette that Australis cosmetics brought out recently, I believe its for the holiday makeup, but I picked up this bad boy, in the 40% off sale last week at Priceline, it was something I wanted as I had seen it on their website and was like, I will break my eye shadow palette spending ban for this! and I did.

I was lucky in the fact that my Priceline store had this in stock at all, I picked up the last one, and was so happy. I took it home hoping it would perform well, and so far I am very happy with all of the 15 shades. The lightest ones in particular are actually great, they show up well on my pale arm!
I believe the packaging is quite decent,if you have felt the Morphe palettes it feels better quality than that style of packaging. but there is no mirror. You get the names of the eye shadows written on the back. You get 15 different shades ranging from mattes, to shimmers and a couple of foiled eye shadows as well. Also the pigmentation on these shadows are very good, they feel soft and buttery too.

These swatches are great because one swipe. no primer and all the colours actually show up the way they are meant to. Wearing on the eyes the eye shadows performed very well, didn't crease and lasted on my oily eye lids a good 10 hours, so I was pretty happy about that. The range of shades are also pretty unique for a drugstore palette, Earthy greens, taupes and a few pops of colour.
Over all I'm rather happy with this palette and can't wait to try it out more! I think the price point of $25 is pretty good, considering the size of the pans and the quality over all. I also love Australis for being cruelty free and an affordable brand here in Australia. They have brought out some interesting things in the last few months.
have you brought this palette?

A spending ban and project pan

Hello lovelies today's post is a bit because I wen't a bit addicted to buying eye shadow palettes these past few months, and I figured I need to put them to good use before I buy any new ones unless some really grab my attention, however for now I am on an eye shadow spending ban, there! I said it! I've put myself on it. So I looked into my stash and figured I'd blog about an oldie but a goodie that I have loved for ages.

I am a huge fan of Designer brands by db a cosmetic company that started within Australia and is now fully cruelty free as well as vegan. This is an older palette that I'm not sure is in their range anymore or in their vegan range but I do know that it is in fact cruelty free. I paid $6 for this palette a year and a half ago at my local chemist and I have not regretted it one bit.
It comes in this super cute and very glittery clutch style packaging which I thought was adorable as it meant you can travel with it, in style!  The shadows are smooth, buttery and very pigmented! very happy with the different finishes, one matte and its also quite pigmented, these swatches were one swipe, no primer and taken in natural lighting by my bedroom window.
They do throw a little kick back in the pan but that doesn't transfer to fall out under the eye but I always do my eyes first before applying foundation, so I can clean it up relatively easy if there is any fall out. I love how this can easily carry from Day time to nighttime, and is such a versatile palette with the shades.
It's such a pity they discontinued it but honestly its lasted me ages and it is still going strong as I haven't really touched some of the shades yet. Have you gone on a spending ban?

Makeup Geek eye shadow dupes! affordable Australian cruelty free first impressions

Hello lovelies! today I'm sharing with you my swatches and first impressions of the Chichi Cosmetics Eye shadow palette, in Metalics! I'm flawed by their actual quality, especially for their amazing price point. Even at $22 the price is well and truly worth it for an amazing eye shadow palette, but I tend to wait until Myer or Target has sales on, which is farely often, I picked up this palette for $16.95 as Target had 30% off. I also know that you can get two packs of eye shadow palettes at a very decent price of $21 when on sale, which is amazing!
I now own three palettes by Chichi Cosmetics, and I'm amazed at every one of them, the quality is outstanding especially for a drugstore palette. The trouble is, is deciding which one to get next! I believe my next palettes will be Pretty, and Sunset, cause the shades in them look stunning! You can't just stop at one. I love how they use a mixture of colours in their palettes, naturals and smokier shades like plums, purples, and that green is stunning.
Also some of Chichi palettes have been duped as Makeup geeks formula, which is amazing! I know the Spices Palette has a dupe for Cocoa bear. Who else loves dupes that are affordable? I know I can't get enough of them!
Not only are the palettes really unique with the colour choices, the shadows are a non creasing formula, stays on my eyelids all day, and are so pigmented, and creamy buttery to blend out. These shadows are a must have for any makeup lover!
The pigmentation is stunning, one swipe, on dry skin, no primer, each shade as good as the next, even the lighter shades. No building up needed, and doesn't need to be applied wet, but would look stunning if it was!
So if you are looking for pigmented, non chalky colours that will work on most skintones try out Chichi Cosmetics! They do ship internationally from their website which can be found here, Chichi Website
So guys they are my first impressions and swatches! have you guys bought any of their eye shadow palettes? let me know what ones!

Mode Cosmetics $3 matte liquid lipsticks in Austraila

Hello lovelies! now we all should know by now, I'm a makeup addict, and not just that, a Coles Supermarket addict. Coles has brought in a new brand called Mode cosmetics, and they are a sister brand to Australis, not only that but they are $3 each! well on my receipt though, it came to $2.45 each but I'm not sure if that was a introductory offer or not. However $3 for an accredited cruelty free brand is amazing!

here is what I've been hoarding, um I mean, buying!
The foundations are amazing! the liquid and cream stick one claim to be matte, however the liquid one is more matte, but the cream one is a slightly Satin finish on the skin, which I like, both give excellent coverage, the cream stick one giving full coverage, liquid giving medium, but can be built up. Hasn't broken me out, perfect colour for me, and long wearing.
I'm a picky girl when it comes to eye liner, but this one is good! not only that, I purchased the brown one and use it as an eyebrow pencil and its amazing! its the perfect shade for me. The black liner lasts along time, and doesn't smudge.

The lipliners in this range, are superb, I have two, this one is my favourite one, long lasting, doesn't feather, doesn't streak, and lasts a good amount of time.
Onto my favourite thing, Matte lip creams, and when in Australia did we get such affordable matte liquid lipsticks!!! this one is in the shade Jadore, I have three shades, and love them all, formula is creamy but dries and isn't drying on the lips. It lasts a good four to five hours, and doesn't transfer!
I got the bronzer in Sunkissed and this powder is my favourite duo out of the whole range! the bronzer is the perfect, every day contour powder. The pressed powder is amazing and can be worn with, or without foundation.

I especially love this berry pink in Russian skies, and the lip liner is called Pink Orbit, and lipstick is Amazeballs. I'm seriously in love with this brand already and cannot wait to see what new stuff they bring out!

have you tried this brand? its all over instagram at the moment, have you seen it?

Review & Swatches: Australis Velourlip Matte Cream Lipstick how I wear a vampy lipstick shade

Hello all! I'm so excited, I'm finally on the valour lip bandwagon! I purchased my first ever Australis valour matte liquid lipstick from Kmart the other week and have been wearing it non stop! I bought the colour doobai as that was the shade I'd been lusting after for ages! the next colour I want to get is the deep purple one called Tok-i-o!

so here are swatches, how I apply it and I hope you enjoy it!

Lipswatch, I used natural lighting only from window light, and no filters, I adore this colour! its pigmented and a delight to put on.

I picked it up from Kmart for $9.00 which I think is a fairly good price for this type of product! I was worried I'd hate wearing it, but I actually found it very, comfortable and easy to wear and apply! it didn't dry my lips out either.
First off I prep my lips by giving them a gentle scrub a dub dub, it really helps for the presentation and the wear time of the lipstick. I actually found it better with the Maybelline Better skin item then any other I have in my stash. I also lathered on lipbalm before hand and Palmers coco butter formula is my fave.

The lip product itself, glides on with a traditional doe foot applicator, gives an impressive matte finish, and is opaque in one swipe. It's also very easy to use because it dries quickly, I'm always smudging my lipstick when cleaning up the edges and that defeats the purpose of cleaning up the edges! But this I have no problem with!
On me it lasted a good 5 hours before drying off a little, but it doesn't flake, cake, smudge, or leave any bad stains. I did however find if I applied too many layers, like more than 2, it started to get crumbly. Almost like I had lipstick pilling on my lips, or lint haha.
I think I also want to get Hon a loo loo next as well haha, tell me, what are your favourite lip shades or products to wear at the moment?

Pro's
Easy to apply
Long wearing
Affordable
Vegan

Con's
Doesn't layer that well on the lips
Need to prepare lips with lip balm

Hugs Jess
