Essence all about greys eye shadow palette review

I've been going through my stash of eye shadow palettes and I think I may have to go on a spending ban on at least eye shadows because lets just say I have a lot! we'll see if the spending ban actually happens though. Today's post is about a relatively new palette, and its a small, travel friendly size that packs a punch. The all about greys palette by Essence cosmetics is one of my favourite palettes for every day use, because it can take me from day to night and it has an amazing range of shades and finishes to suit everyone's needs. Plus being very affordable, its on trend with the colours and and affordability as well.

The all about greys palette is one of my favourites because the black eye shadow is not only matte but really intense as well. Which is rare I believe for a drugstore eyeshadow palette to have such a decent black within it. The packaging is your typical transparent, acrylic pan that holds 8 eye shadows within it, so I think 8 shades are a great number because it gives you the right amount of colours to create a huge array of looks with.  You get 9.5 grams of product in total, which I think is quite a bit for the compact packaging.
I picked up mine from Target where I get most of my Essence products from, if you haven't tried their new eye shadow formula you really should, they have upped their game and are addictive once you start with them!

So the colours, you get 8 of course starting at the lightest you get a really pretty highlighty white colour that has a little bit of shimmer, underneath that is almost a skin colour, light a light beige that is a fantastic transition colour Then you go through the greys and into the really nice dark greys and blacks that makes the palette so interesting instead of just being a dull grey palette.
The formulation of the eye shadows is much better than what I used to know Essence eye shadows to be, apart from the single eye shadows, I believe these shades would suit a lot of different skin tones and be wearable for so many occasions. As always the swatches were done on no primer, and on one swipe so clearly they are pigmented.
What do you guys think of these palettes? got any favourites? will you be trying them?

Lush, Daiso, Japanese, Korean make up haul

Hello lovelies! today I am showing you a post because yesterday I went shopping with a lovely friend of mine and we went to Daiso! it was unexpected as I didn't know that it was actually there, but now I know it is, I'll be going back there more often!

But I'm showing you my Korean make up haul that I purchased from Daiso that I can't wait to get using!

How pretty does this blush quad look? the packaging when opened is just as nice,is very Princessy as well.
I picked up a pressed powder, a lipstick, a face primer, a mascara and these items from Daiso were all $2.80 each. Oh I also got a blush.
I got totally sucked into the cute packaging of the lipstick!I think it will be great for when I go back to school in a couple of weeks.
I can never have enough black eye liners in my collection!

I just love the packaging on the mascara and think its adorable!

From Priceline I also picked up this savvy by db eye shadow pencil kit because by themselves they cost $6.99 however, this kit cost $4! so I wasn't saying no to that.

Lush had a 50% off table and I managed to get the Fairy ring soap! they had some Christmas stock left which I was totally surprised about. Normally its all gone by this time of Jan. I only paid $3.50 for it as well. I can't wait to use it as it smells so nice, I have the hot toddy shower gel so I'm so excited for this one.
I also got from Priceline these limited editions Essence pieces that were being discontinued for $1! the dark romance collection.

So what have you guys been hauling lately?

hugs
Jess

spending time with my nanna shopping and movie day in pics

Hello lovelies, today is just a brief post about my day as I've spent it with my nanna, she took me shopping and to the movies so it was nice having some bonding time with her as I don't get to have one on one time with her. We saw the movie St Vincent, Bill Murray played a really interesting and fab role in the movie. It wasn't a happy movie, I found it a bit sad because it did remind me of someone in real life who passed away this year, so it was a bit too real for me. But I can still appreciate the movie.

My nanna is a lovely and clever hard working lady, at 82 years old she still works part time doing house work to earn some extra money and to keep her active. I think that is amazing.

But we went shopping and my nan bought me a lovely skirt and top from Black pepper, I need to get pics of them as they both are really lovely. I also went to Target.

My outfit of the day.
we nommed on left overs from Christmas, love Christmas left over grazing!

I still think my nan makes the best cups of tea!
my Essence purchases I got the Wave goddess highlighter
the wave goddess soft touch eye shadow,

tinted lip balm, and my gosh these are seriously pigmented! I'm wearing it in the below pic!
not too many pics as I wanted to enjoy the day however there are a couple.

Have you been enjoying time with your family?
hugs Jess
