Something I learned during my year 11 classes (I am a mature aged student who has gone back to finish her highschool degree) was in Literature it was more diverse than just reading a book. We read the rug maker, about an Afghan man who seeked asylum in Melbourne, Australia. I've learned a whole different view on asylum seekers. They aren't rats sheltering on a boat, needing to go back to where they have come from. They are people, seeking safety, a new home, a new family with open arms.
Many have lost their family and loved ones, or send their young children on a journey that we could never fathom. So for research sake and wanting to see what others lives were like I did some research and have stumbled across a unique initiative.
The food Justice truck was established because it recognised a growing problem that refugees and asylum seekers needed food. It also wanted to support locally grown produce and help locals in that sense.
Facts
People who seek asylum will have lost weight due to not having enough food
Illness is therefore immanent
Hunger in children is a real thing
People are people. I believe that we become cold hearted because of the news and how it is broadcasted.
In truth we need to be more aware, kind and loving.

My week in pictures featuring Urban decay Vice pallet
Hello lovelies, thought I'd share with you my week in pictures tonight. Tomorrow I am at the opshop I work at (thrift shop) and will be quite busy might get some inspiration to get some clothing/fashion pics.
I played with Nessie, she's my first ever pet parrot and is very special to me! I just love this snuggle bum.
Got the best chicken dinner in town, this chicken is addictive!
Picked up some thrifted notebooks for school in Disney Princess themed! I love them only $1 each.
Wassuper excited that my Urban decay Vice pallet arrived finally! I haven't even used it yet, its just stunning to look at.
Spent time in the garden and found these pretty flowers.
What have you all been up to? leave a comment!
hugs Jess

spending time with my nanna shopping and movie day in pics
Hello lovelies, today is just a brief post about my day as I've spent it with my nanna, she took me shopping and to the movies so it was nice having some bonding time with her as I don't get to have one on one time with her. We saw the movie St Vincent, Bill Murray played a really interesting and fab role in the movie. It wasn't a happy movie, I found it a bit sad because it did remind me of someone in real life who passed away this year, so it was a bit too real for me. But I can still appreciate the movie.
My nanna is a lovely and clever hard working lady, at 82 years old she still works part time doing house work to earn some extra money and to keep her active. I think that is amazing.
But we went shopping and my nan bought me a lovely skirt and top from Black pepper, I need to get pics of them as they both are really lovely. I also went to Target.
My outfit of the day.
we nommed on left overs from Christmas, love Christmas left over grazing!
I still think my nan makes the best cups of tea!
tinted lip balm, and my gosh these are seriously pigmented! I'm wearing it in the below pic!
not too many pics as I wanted to enjoy the day however there are a couple.
Have you been enjoying time with your family?
hugs Jess
