Designer brands by db make up roundup!

Hi lovelies! today I worked out I have a growing collection of Designer brands make up Designer brands by db has flourished lately, the last few years I never, really took any notice of them but this last year however, wow!

I'm going to show you my current favourites of their products that I own, and have tested out myself, so I know these work for me. I also have their full range of long lasting lipsticks because I won it earlier on their instagram prize. But I'm showing other products at the moment. Let me know if you want a round up of their lip products.

A lot of their products are certified for no parabens, talc, and I find that so incredible at these prices.
Ok so I have, ten products! I can't believe actually how my stash of db cosmetics have grown but it has quite significantly. Not only are they're products really good quality, especially for the price point, they are accredited cruelty free and vegan friendly.

So starting off with their Pro contour kit, you get six amazing shades, ranging from warm to cool, I love this palette and for $17.99 its worth it. However I had to buy mine on their website as I can't find it in stock. I also got free shipping at the time which is why I jumped on the band wagon because Instagram was going nuts for this Kat Von D dupe.

Next their snowflake palette, also $17.99 and a Christmas limited edition, so many shades to play with for a variety of looks, I wont be running out of eye shadows any time soon, blends out well, and decently enough pigmented.

Their Glam clutch eye shadow palette is a true favourite of mine! I picked it up half price at my local chemist but you can buy it online. 10 shades ranging from shimmer to matte, earthy and purple based, I love this palette! its glittery silver clutch is also stunning, and easy to travel with.

The trio concealer correction palette I picked up when I ordered online as a free gift as I had purchased three products. Very creamy, and easy to blend, works well on my fair skin tone, and love the salmon and purple for brightening and correcting.

The Pore minimizing primer, is meant to be a dupe for the porefessional by benefit and I love this primer! You don't need to use a lot, it blends out well, and also fills in fine lines, and my large pores which I like to hide, a lot! anyone else out there like me? for $14.99 I believe, looks exactly like the benefit one when applying.

Another benefit dupe is their high lights liquid, illuminated, a radiant glow that looks from within, peachy pink in shade, and very flattering on the skin. $9.99, great price point for a drugstore product, there are two shades, I have the shade starlight and the other one available, is bronzing.

Their long wearing foundation is a big thing at the moment, recently purchased I've been testing it out the last couple of weeks. $12.99 its a dupe for the Estee lauder double wear foundation, which is why I bought it because I cannot afford high end.

Next is the Gatsby palette which was a limited edition but I managed to snag mine amazingly at the reject shop for $3.50! its got an amazing array of eye shadows, blushes and powders and I use it on a daily basis as I picked up two of them. It's stunning rose gold case looks, well stunning!

The designer brands liquid eye liner is one of my all time favourite liquid eye liners, it has shimmer in it but once dried on the eye lid, you can't notice it that much, it was a freebie gift, however so I'm not sure how much it is, however their other liquid eye liners are good too for the price of $8.99, they do have one similar called Silver glitter.

The most recently purchased eye shadow palette was the Midnight moon palette which is limited edition, and I picked up mine from my chemist as it was on sale with $2 off, I'm actually stoked with the colour pay off on this! pigmented, creamy, very good to blend out, you can see my first impressions of it here! first impressions usually $14.99 I thought I'd give this baby a whirl for its money, and I'm glad I did!

what are your designer brands by db favourites?

anything you think I should try next? I'm a huge fan of their eye shadows! amazing quality for such prices.

Designer brands pro contour palette and snowflake eye shadow palette limited edition swatchws of the pro contour kit

My Designer brands haul arrived today! I might have purchased some things on their website last week when they had free shipping. I'm basically showing you what I got cause I literally just picked them up from the post office this morning! but I'm so excited to start playing with them and giving you a more thorough review in the future!

First up we'll get the "boring" items out of the way haha not that they are boring in my books but they are the more practical items that I purchased. Well the concealer palette came free because I purchased 3 items in one go. Anyways I've been wanting to try this primer for ages! and I've read up that its meant to be a dupe for the Benefit porefessional primer, so I'm excited to try this! it has tea tree, aloe vera and peptides in it! The concealer actually looks pretty good too, and having a drugstore one that actually has an apricot shade is pretty cool! $14.95 for the primer.

ahh my beloved obsession with eye shadows continue! when I saw they brought out this pretty, limited edition for 2015, palette I knew I had to get it, I gravitate to these colours all the time, they are pigmented, and creamy, can tell after just swatching them. I paid $17.95 for this one which is the large, they do have a small but why get a small when you can go large?

swatches

Now onto the product I was most excited about because literally everyone has been talking about it on all the beauty review sites and Instagram. This looks exactly like a dupe for the Kat Von D contour palette, I don't own it, sadly but this is a more affordable option! cruelty free, and vegan friendly. $17.95 I love how big this palette is, and if I like it, I might have to get myself a back up though I do own 6 contour palettes already, derp.

What have you been hauling lately?
anything from Designer brands?

Australis make a wish colour inject lipstick review

Hello all! today I have with you a lipstick I'm loving to wear when I want a bit of glam in my every day life. This is a coral orange colour, by Australis in their colour mineral inject line. Usually $13 however I picked up on sale in the bargain bin for $3.

its one that is overlooked slightly because of how vivid it actually is, I find that bright colours needs patience when applying and generally I don't have that much patience. However this is actually easy to use. Very pigmented, creamy and long wearing, I'm so glad I have this in my stash for Spring and Summer!
It has minerals, antioxidants and vitamins in the tube, the packaging is quite nice too, very sleek for Australis. A slightly glossy finish, and its a long lasting lipstick, wearing on me for about four hours before I have to reapply or touch up.
I love how you can see the colour at the bottom of the tube as well, a nice punchy colour to boost ones look this season! have you been wearing anything by Australis lately? their line of lipsticks have really impressed me so far, what about you?

I have this lovely naturals one, and a fantastic pan full of Autumn glamour colours. They are cheap, cruelty free, and good quality to boot! Australis long wear lipstick first impressions in Easy chic nude lipstick

Hello lovelies! today I have an amazing Australian product, that I don't think has had much talk about lately. I'm pretty keen to show you this shade of lipstick, by Australis, because they are a cruelty free brand and are one of the top movers in the make up world.

This is the Australis go long, long wear lipstick in the shade easy chic, I am in love with this shade! its actually a great dupe for a couple of nudes that are so popular right now. Aka Celebrity skin
It is extremely matte but not at all drying on the lips, lasts a good 6 hours and is so pigmented and creamy.

I wore this look yesterday to work and am so impressed with the formula of this lipstick! its left my lips very smooth.

What have you been wearing lately?

Designer brands by db girls night out competition and the story of Patches the rescued piggy

Hello lovelies I wanted to talk to you today about the rarity about finding a good friend and making the most of it. I met Mel on instagram originally and she's fast becoming one of my favourite people. Did she have a big following? is she a youtuber? nope, she's just a very genuine, down to earth girl that I have very similar interests with. We first started talking about thrifting, and make up as they are two of our passions. I've since gotten to know that Mel is very passionate about animals and lives on a property and is able to take in pets that need homing. She rescued her pet pig Patches, and Patches is not the typical miniature pig, she will grow up to a full size Sow. This pig is quite the character so I've been told. She's a housepig and is able to open doors and when she does she goes into Mel's room and eats her lush products!

Patches likes to eat products like these, and these.
 Rockstar soap by Lush

This is the very beloved Patches and culprit! who was adopted because her mother died on another unknown farm and her life would have been endangered otherwise. She basically acts like a dog.
This is the culprits owner Mel, we have such a lot in common and I'm thrilled to be telling you this story because we're going out tonight and I'll tell you how.
Not only does Mel love thrifting/opshopping as you can see here she found this snazzy dress in her local thrift store. She also loves hello kitty (like me) and she collects toys (like me) and adores make up (like me) but this is all besides the point.

Mel won us a competition that Designer brands were hosting on Instagram! she won us this girls night out and chose me to be her date.
yup we get to go into the city for a girls night out hosted by Designer brands and we get free tickets to see the advance screening of Aloha, and a goodie parcel full of make up valued of $50!!  I was stoked and shocked Mel chose me to go with her.
So far my morning has started out with coffee, planning my make up, accessories and I've already planned what to wear. Is anyone else like that where you have to plan things?
Fox necklace from Target only $2 on sale! I love it
Bracelet from Kmart 50cents on sale.
A look at my make up I'll be wearing, Elf foundation, bys primer, essence go big mascara, covergirl liquid concealer, Maybelline fit me concealer, Australis on tour contour kit, Australis limited edition bronzed eyed girl palette that Mel gave to me!
Face of Australia gel eye liner is my favourite current eye liner.

I'm so thankful to have met Mel and make friends with her, it sounds corny but it really is hard making genuine friends as you get older. Especially ones that understand the daily struggles of illnesses and the likes that we both struggle with I wont go into hers as that's her story but I'll go into more of mine at a later time, but for tonight I'll be vlogging where I can, taking lots of pics and enjoying it to the fullest!

hugs and love

Profusions pigmented and buttery eye shadows in emerald cruelty free

Hello lovelies today I have a first impressions of a profusions eye shadow palette that I have for you! the shade is emerald and it is stunning! in the pan it looks pigmented. And the swatches I'm about to show you do not disappoint.

The packaging is a tad cheap looking but I think from memory I paid less than $4 from the reject shop which is like a dollar store here in Australia. So for the price range that's not to bad, especially for a cruelty free brand as well! Don't the colours look rich?

They are a slightly satin finish, which I like, but the pigmentation is amazing, they are buttery smooth and the swatches are amazing. This was one swipe from the brush that came with the pack, its a sponge brush.

True to life colours, that are so buttery soft. A little fall out in the pan but I believe that's the talc in the ingredient list but from the price you can't really go wrong from this drug store quality.
Look how true to life these colours are! I think for an emerald selection you can really get away with a lot of looks from this pan of colours. Which I was grateful for because a pan of just greens does get rather boring.
I wanted to show the back with the bunny saying cruelty free.
And the typical packaging saying emerald, which was the shade name.

I hope you enjoyed this first impressions, have you tried this brand yet? if so what products? let me know what you think!

Savvy by db mini make over packs from Priceline review and thoughts

So Savvy by db have brought out the little packages of goodness again and omg I am in love, they are similar to the pocket rockets of last year but this year they are called Mini make overs and they are $5 each. My first one I picked up was this packet right here purely because I was so interested in the liquid lipstick.

The shade of liquid lipstick is called Ballet and in the packaging it looked quite nude which was actually why I wanted it because its so on trend right now, and let me tell you it is pigmented! and extremely runny. So they aren't wrong in saying its a liquid but on the lips its a dream.

Nude shades don't normally suit me but because I'm now blonde, and this one has a slight peachy colour in it (and yes I do believe I applied way to much but it came out super fast so be warned) but they are so pigmented! they remind me of the ocd lip tars I believe they are called. They have other shades which I will be picking up.
I love the packaging, and I do wish they come in more shades but my local Priceline didn't seem to stock that many, I picked up this one because it was the last one of this one left. And as I said nudes are very in right now. The tube is sturdy, but I would highly recommend keeping it in a make up bag, either the one it comes with or another one because if it did get squished by something in your bag it would make a huge pigmented mess. I actually squirted out that much and its that pigmented that it stained my hand so be warned especially with the deeper shades, it washed off after two washes though.

Now onto the nail polishes, I was excited to see the little bottles as they made the deal a bit more value because some of the packages only come with two items. But these nail polishes are not very good quality even though they are very pretty. They lasted me a day before chipping.

This was straight after application, the pro's are they are very pretty shades, the lighter pink one held up much better than the darker shade. The was no streaking, and it applied opaque after one coat which at the time I thought it was too good to be true.

But after one day they chipped, and I don't think its worth it just for the nail polishes if that's what you are after, I'm getting the packs for the liquid lipsticks. And I guess for a day the nails can look pretty still. Maybe with a top coat it would last longer but I am lazy with my nails and generally just want it easy and to last on its own.

I do like the size of the bottles, I think they are quite a novelty little thing, and would be good for travelling.

over all not a bad deal for $5

what do you guys think have you seen them yet? let me know and please follow and share for more
hugs Jess
